Hello my name is Karen Sizelove-Murphy,

I am a Skills and Strategies Coach.  I pride myself in teaching “How to accomplish a huge POSITIVE Difference in a short period of time” with this motto: INTENTION CREATES RESULTS!

The name of OUR business is  VIVID LIFE DESIGN.

​

School of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP) with the help of an evaluation by my cousin, a Speech Pathologist. She determined that I had issues with focusing, easily distracted, couldn't pay my bills on time, no time management and that I needed assistance. She wrote a letter to University of Cincinnati stating that I needed a note taker and quiet place to take my tests. I graduated at age 37 from the #1 DESIGN SCHOOL in the country in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. 

My THESIS was based off of International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. I rendered all my drawings by hand using markers. Built a 30" x 60" model out of balsa wood complete with rendered drawings of wolf diorama's throughout the model. What I did not realize at the time was acquiring a DESIGN degree actually helped my ADHD. I could HYPER-FOCUS easily because I was highly creative, intuitive, always designed with nature in mind,  sketched and rendered all my drawings by hand.  I have been an artist since a very young age,  always in nature and this combined has been a true blessing with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).

I served on the the Board of Education for Northern Virginia Trout Unlimited. I successfully started and became the FIRST Trout in the Classroom (TIC) Coordinator in Northern Virginia in 2009.  What an honor to place the first Trout in the Classroom tank in a Home School. NINE years later there is over 45 TIC tanks serving Northern Virginia. 

Before coaching: I had HIGH Anxiety with a 1001 distractions coming in internally and externally all the time. My way of thinking was "NOW OR NOT NOW". ***I was challenged with prioritizing TASKS, I would write down notes then lose them. I had started new planners to get FOCUSED year after year with no success.

I was then tested and diagnosed with having Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). *** I was mentored and Coached by a Master ADHD coach, Joyce Kubik, an author and Int'l Speaker and prior President of ADHD Coaching Organization. Joyce helped me with skills and strategies in using her Success Planning Workbook that she designed. I have been successfully using her Success Journal Planning Workbook since 2003.

This allowed me to achieve these certifications, in 2014 I earned a 4.0 GPA at Fort Lewis College in the Teachers Certification Program, I received an Environmental Educators Certification through Colorado Association of Environmental Education in 2016, received a Foundational Coaching Certification through Klemmer Coaching Academy, a Premier Leadership and Character Development Company in 2017, that uses experiential learning. I AM a living example, I have received the coaching. I am a POWERHOUSE of FUN, CREATIVITY and HIGH Energy. Which has helped me excel in all areas of my life.

WE have been successfully and Happily married for six years. We both have ADHD.  We thrive in outdoor activities at our Song Spring Lake Retreat such as hiking, fly fishing, bird watching, kayaking and photography. We enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and the afternoon while watching our wild goslings, ducklings, finches, hummingbirds, hawk moths and 100's of swallows.  This works very well for us.  We met in a Stream Monitoring outdoor class. A hands-on event that was hosted by Northern Virginia Trout Unlimited.               ***INTENTION CREATES RESULTS***   We DATED for (5) DAYS, ENGAGED for (12) hours and were married in 2012.

WE ATTENDED THE CHADD Conference for Child and Adults, it was WONDERFUL learning experience from a wide range of MEDICAL Professionals: doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and other coaches.

​

​Coaching is my passion. It brings me joy in helping others understand how to use strategies to get results and acquire their Dreams. To teach others how to use a Vision Dream Board to help EXCEL them in a Forward MOVEMENT to LIVE THEIR DREAMS. TO MAKE A HUGE POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
